Background of the study
Green digital marketing strategies emphasize the environmental benefits of products and services, aiming to boost market performance through sustainability messaging. This study investigates a renewable energy campaign in Lagos, Nigeria, focusing on how green digital marketing influences market performance. By leveraging eco-friendly content, sustainable branding, and targeted digital advertising, the campaign seeks to enhance brand reputation and drive customer engagement (Afolabi, 2023). In Lagos, where awareness of environmental issues is high, such strategies can differentiate renewable energy solutions and stimulate consumer interest. The research examines various digital channels, including social media, online advertisements, and website content, to evaluate their effectiveness in communicating green messages. Challenges such as consumer skepticism and the higher cost of sustainable marketing are also discussed. The study combines quantitative market data with qualitative insights to provide a comprehensive evaluation of green digital marketing strategies and their impact on market performance (Okeke, 2024; Ibrahim, 2025).

Statement of the problem
Despite the potential of green digital marketing, renewable energy campaigns in Lagos often struggle to translate sustainable messaging into improved market performance. Issues such as inconsistent messaging, consumer skepticism about environmental claims, and higher production costs impede the campaign’s effectiveness. These challenges can result in suboptimal market share and reduced consumer engagement. This study addresses these issues by evaluating the impact of green digital marketing strategies and identifying factors that hinder or enhance market performance, with the aim of providing actionable recommendations for campaign optimization (Afolabi, 2023; Okeke, 2024).
